Running LAMP under sys 9.2.2 on a 533dp Mac I am getting persistent
dropouts with my MOTU 828. I have one friend running LAMP under sys
9.2.2 on a dual Gig Mac who reports exactly the same problem. Is
this common here? Any solutions?

Fine here under 9.2 on an G4 800. Digital sync issue, optical? My 828
is set to internal sync, but it has optical in and outs to my D8B,
and I don't use the SPDF in/out. Regards Brian

... the input LCDs will flicker eventhough nothing is connected and
eventually the 828 has to be "rebootet" / repluged.
yes, very commen here as well, and i don't like it.

Yes, same system setup except 1 Ghz powerbook. I experience somewhat
the same, but usually when CPU usage has been running high for some
time. I used to experience this on the PC aswell, with Tascam US428.
A typical solution there was to adjust the buffer setting to a higher
value, this would reduce the dropouts.
I haven't used the 828 and the powerbook long enough to find patterns
or look dedicatedly for solutions, as it happens rarely and I haven't
started using the combo in live or recording settings yet, where this
would be fatal.
But yes, the 828 seems at times a bit flaky to me.
kind regards,
gisle
