1) place markers near major edit events and "make something happen
there".
2) when people are running, don't write fast music, it makes them seem like
they're running slower.
3) don't make anything that draws attention from the acting.
4) be appropriate for the film genre, i.e. don't make Celine Dion type
ballads for art films.
5) find instruments that feel like the character in the film and use them
when he or she enters the scene.
