Subject: [LUG] [LAM] Gold 5 to Platinum 6 Upgrade Path
Message #131824
Okay, so version 6 is supposed to be available in mid February, right? Which means that the Gold upgrade (as opposed to platinum) will be available in 2005, roughly seven minutes before they announce version 7. Okay, sarcasm aside, I don't need any of the features of platinum to any great degree, but some would be "nice to have"s, and mostly I'm tired of being a second-class citizen to emagic, so I'm considering doing the upgrade to Platinum 6 (I'm on Gold 5 at the moment). Is this something that I should phone emagic about and do in one fell swoop of some kind over the phone? Has anyone here does this kind of double-upgrade? How much roughly did you have to pay? Or should I try to upgrade to Platinum 5 now, to make life easier? Is there any way to do this over the net, or through my local dealer, or does it *have to* be over the phone with emagic?

I went from Gold 4 to Plat 5, through my local dealer. No Emagic or phone-calls or anything involved. Very simply really. If I remember correctly the upgrade cost me some $400 then -- a bit less probably, like $370 or something. -- Hendrik Jan Veenstra <h@...> Omega Art: http://www.omega-art.com
