At 09:45 PM 2/3/2003 +0000, you wrote: >What is the best & quickest way to transfer MIDI & Audio files >to ProTools from LAP...? I had to do something like this recently. Actually it was from Nuendo to Pro Tools, however the Nuendo export of OMF wasn't so hot for PT, so I imported the OMF file into Logic, then re-exported it back as an OMF file (telling it to split stereo files) and opened that in PT. It worked pretty well for the most part. There were some missing parts here and there that I had to retrieve individually. Basically All I got was regional information, nothing else. There was no tempo information, panning, levels, nada. Because we were mixing, it didn't matter (all the would be done on SSL any ways). Now as for MID, I couldn't say since it was audio only. I would assume that OMF doesn't do it since there wasn't even tempo info in the session file. I also had Digitranslator installed (which cost $500!). From what I understand you need the translator if the session is 24bit, but you dont need it if it's 16bit. Don't quote me, its my first time doing this and it was a pain. To be honest, best way is probably just to consolidate all the audio tracks to single continuous files starting from beat one. That way you can just drag all the tracks in and they will line up. Down side is that you have to live with all your edits/cross fades, no fixing em later. For MIDI I Imagine you could follow the 12 step MIDI export procedure in the logic manual and import that into PT. Colin Miller
