Subject: [LAM]:Unusual MIDI problem
Message #131646
Hi All, After 2 years of trouble free Logic using - I have suddenly developed a MIDI problem. I use Logic 4.8.1 on a G4 Mac with a Midisport 2x2 MIDI interface. I have tested the interface on another computer and it, and the usb leads all work fine with the same version of Logic. I have reloaded my Logic program, re-installed the MIDI drivers all to no avail. This is what happens My keyboard sends midi to the interface - the lights come on With the usb bypassed I can play all my modules from the keyboard If I play a note from Logic in a piano roll editor, it plays the corresponding module, and I get midi out indication on the Logic transport. All ok. But, when I play the keyboard I get no midi in showing on the trasport and so no corresponding midi out to the modules. I have checked all my OMS settings, which are as before. I have re-loaded OMS and set it up again, and can play all my modules from within OMS. I am baffled! Has anyone got any ideas what may cause this?? This problem has arisen since I had a system crash. My system files were corrupted (no idea how or why) and I have had the system re-loaded by a "professional". I was on OS 9.1... But the repair centre re-loaded OS 9.2 (which incidentally was OS software that came from an I-Mac - if that makes any difference??) . Could OS 9.2 be causing this? or is it Logic? All my other USB devices work fine, including the hub. HELP!!!! Thanks for any advice anyone can offer mrspartacus
