Ok, I'm terrible with Midi. Here's my problem. I have 2 midi
controllers (K2500 & DD55). I want the k2500 to trigger a
Kontakt instrument and the dd55 to trigger a Battery instrument. I
record enable both the Kontakt instrument and the Battery
instrument. When I play the K2500 both instruments play. The
same is true when I play the dd55 - both instruments play. How
can I make the K2500 only trigger the Kontakt and the DD55 only
trigger the Battery so I can record a live performance of both?
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,
set the Kontakt/K2500 and Battery/DD55 to different MIDI channels
in pairs.

Darth, I tried that, but didn't work for me. I should mention that
I'm using OMS, don't know if that makes a difference. I tried so
many different combinations already but can't seem to make it work
and I think I'm a pretty smart guy ;)

You can't play two Audio Instruments at the same time in Logic via
realtime input. Any touted "solutions" involve massive latency on
all
but the first Audio Instrument. It sucks, it really does.

John, how bout 1 audio instrument and one midi instrument? I'll
settle for triggering a midi module's drum sounds while recording and
then switching to battery sounds afterwards. I just want to record
the live input of drums and keys simultaneously. If that's not
possible, then please tell me that 2 midi instruments is possible?
Thanks

Triggering two MIDI instruments is easy: create e.g. a new
transformer in the environment and cable it to two instruments.
Check the transformer's icon (in its parameter pane) and assign it to
an arrange track. If your controller sends on two midi channels
(split keyboard for example, or when using 2 controllers on different
channels), make the transformer a Condition Splitter, and set the
Conditions Cha parameter to e.g. "=1". The all channel-1 messsages
will leave the 1st outlet and all other channels will leave the 2nd
outlet of the transformer (and will thus reach the 1st and 2nd
instrument separately). If you want to play 2 instruments in
parallel (stacked), just leave the transformer at its default
settings (= do nothing).
The same method works with one audio instruments plus external
instruments as well -- just as long as you don't use more than one
audi instrument.

Yes to both. See:

for more info (including simultaneous audio & midi multitrack
recording).
