I have a DP 867 9.22 and going through the extensions dance.
Before my legs give out, is there a list anywhere of the minimal
extensions needed to run LAPM?
I am getting crashes on quiting, putting to sleep, and energy
saver sleep mode.
Thanks so much to all my "best read friends" on the LUG

remove anything and all the things u don't need.
never put mac to sleep on same "session" as using logic, they
don't mix well
and result in crashes. i have sleep mode set to "never".

1st of all, I run a full extension set and hardly ever have crashes
(LAMP5.5, OS 9.2.2 on a G4/350). But if you suspect an extension
problem: go to the Extension Manager and copy the Mac OS 9 Base set,
and call it "Logic". Now add the Emagic extensions (USB Emagic
Dongle Driver (or is that a left-over from LA4?), USB XSKey driver).
Add driver-stuff for your midi interface and audio card. You
probably want all the CD-stuff as well (if OS9-base doesn't include
that). Make sure the entire quicktime/quickdraw suite is on.
Reboot, start Logic to see if Logic launches at all. Check to see if
the online help still works.

hmm ... why is quickdraw important? Just curious....
thanks

Not sure -- just figured that anything with "quick" in it must be
good :-). Seriously, I was under the impression that tons of (or
most, or all?) graphical stuff needs quickdraw, which would mean that
almost any app needs it. But then, I might be wrong there. Anyway,
I recommended the OS9-base set with audio specific extensions, and
qdraw is definitely in the OS9-base set.

Quickdraw is the old Apple video/screen draw library package. Apple
is moving on to GL and Quartz Extreme. I do not know if Quickdraw is
still needed. Maybe for older apps. Doubt that it hurts or affects
performance.

I don't know about Quickdraw, but if you have Quicktime
disabled, you won't be able to see the graphic display of Logic's
effects.
