i had found a 4x4x20 rioch cd-rw (internal ide) for 175$ about from
www.dirtcheapdrives.com
ive had it for about 5 months and have had no problems.
it came with no software bundle and the installation manual was a cheap
xerox copy.

the Smart & Friendly CD SpeedWriter Plus (24/4/2) is a good
one at approx. $250. It's IDE & comes with a lot of great
software. Best of all its rewritable. That's not going to
help you on your CD master, but what it's good for is
archiving your individual LAWP audio tracks and allows you
to keep the hard drive free from cluster.
