Subject: OT: Dream Studio come true, your suggestions and input
Message #8669
Hi everyone; I am going to produce an album that will include Ethnic/Electronic ambiences and live musicians/instruments "ala karma/Enigma, B-tribe", tracking and mixing will be done on a Protools system with LAMP in the studio. The record label is providing me with a Protools/LAMP at home to do the synth parts/Drum loops/Sound design. I need to give them an equipment wish list very soon, so your advice and input is very viable. here is what I have in mind; 1-XP-30, or JV-2080 with some expansion boards "techno, orchestral, session, world, vintage" 2-Korg tritron 3- Korg Z-1 or Yamaha AN1X, Basically I want a good {analog} synth with a programmable analog sequencer "the Yamaha has a nice Mac editor not sure about the Z-1". Does sound diver support programming the analog sequencer on either??" 4-Sample CDs , any suggestions for this style? ethnic/ ambiances/ synthy FX... 5- I have a USD with protools, is there an advantege for using the Unitor8 with LAMP/TDM Vs. the AMT-8, "I might be doing some sound to picture projects with this setup in the feature but mostly via Quicktime, no need to impress the clients" 6-Peak and Recycle 7-Any must have TDM or premiere Plug-ins? the final mix will be in the studio, but I am thinking about the SFX machine and I have the opcode fusion set now which is great. I will be using LAMP so I don't know about bruno and Reso, anyone? I am looking at 2-3 powerful synth to program with sound diver. I am very curious to know if there is some must have synth that I missed in this setup, I would like to keep it small and reasonable while versatile and powerful at the same time. Your input is very appreciated. Peace and Love, Bashar PS; There are very few audio people around me here and this list has been a great source of inspirations for years...
