Subject: [LUG] [LC] Cubic Control - Logic Control of Cubase SX
Message #128560
People, I know there are a number of Windows users who purchased Logic Control and who would be keen to use it with Cubase SX. I know, I'm one of them. Well, there *may* be a light at the end of the tunnel... Using a combination of MIDI Yoke, DirectX9 and a piece of software I wrote, I've had some success in using my LC with SX1.05. I'm hoping that Steinberg or Emagic might provide native support, but I didn't want to wait. The following functions work: * transport control, including jog dial & markers * zoom control on the project window * mixer automation, including volume, EQ, FX, mute/solo * user defined keys F1-F8 * channel views The following functions don't work: * pressing the V-Pots * some LED oddities You will need to already have installed: MIDI Yoke NT1.71 DirectX9 If you have Windows XP, are technically literate and wish to help complete this picture, e-mail me directly. If it seems okay on a few people's set ups, I'll make a beta version available. Note: Please don't treat this as some kind of heresy. No platform wars - it's just the PC users who got stuffed. I'm not interested in porting this to other platforms (no enquiries please at this time). I only built it as a personal project. If you don't want to install MIDI Yoke or DirectX9 on your machine, I can't help you - I understand that many people don't want to screw about with upgrade, and yes, there is a chance that they may screw up your working setup. Let me add, there are no warranties *at all* - it's an alpha, and though it works on my machine, it may reduce yours to a pile of smouldering rubble. I don't guarantee it'll ever get beyond the alpha stage. I don't guarantee it'll make any sense at all without the proper Mackie Cubase template. However, I intend to develop this as far as I can - and if there are any Mackie Control users who might be able to run a couple of tests with MIDI-OX, I'd appreciate a little help to fill in the gaps.
