I am seriously considering this as an option.
I know UAD-1 does not work with OSX yet but it says on their site that they
will adapt AU.
However, I do not know if they work with UAD-1 + TiBook.
Magma's Site says that they ARE compatible with UAD-1 but no mention of
Logic.
BTW, samash.com is out of stock for Logic Controller so i have to wait 2 to
4 weeks.
Sigh...

Yes, the UAD-1 does work with Logic and does work on the
TiBook with a Magma. But, as a soon to be Magma owner
myself, I'm going with the TC Powercore from TC
Works.......way more expandability and options, and frankly
better plugs. Not to say the UAD-1 isn't great if you want
that vintage-like processing, but as an overall the
Powercore smokes.

I think you just contradicted almost any other opinion I have read.
I´m not
saying you´re wrong (I have both hehehehe) but they are very different
and
to say which is best is not really possible. Sure the reverbs are better in
Powercore but all the eq, compression and so on is better in the UAD1. I
researched quite a bit on this one and the overall opinion is in UAD1s
favour, that is what it seemed to me anyway. Still this is probably due to
the recent price difference (UAD1 being sold for 600$ in USA) but even if
they were priced similarly I wouldn´t want to choose one for the
other, they
are both incredible cards.

Hmm....Really?
I thought people really liked Realverb Pro more than any other plugins
available.
I have not heard it myself so I can not confirm.

It could be that this was before the Classicverb got out. UAD1 owners are
waiting for a plugin (399$) called Dreamverb which looks very promising.
Actually I have followed the UAD1 for quite a while and I have not heard of
anyone who thought that Realverb was that good. Of course we´re not
talking
softverbs here, I mean compared to standalone verbs, for a softverb
it´s
outstanding.

For a long while everybody at the Nuendo forum compared it to a vintage
Lexicon Reverb. The verdict was that the Lexicon sounded better but
UAD-1's Realverb Pro was the closest to that lexicon in quality among
every other reverb including the Powercore.
As i said, I did not hear so i can not compare.

Like I said, this was before the Classicverb (only 2 months old) which is
also a vintage reverb. This time I´m not so sure I prefer the
original.

What is Classicverb?
Is it part of UAD-1 package or is it another company?
Can you give links?

Sorry I thought you knew, it´s a new reverb algorithm for TC
Powercore,
based on an "unnamed" classic reverb, very good it is. Then again
pretty
soon the Dreamverb will be out for UAD1 and so they may take the lead for a
while. The Dreamverb won´t be free though (399$).

Hmmm.... So, I take it the classic reverb is free then.
So, that somewhat justifies the price difference, I guess.
If Dreamverb sells around $299.- street price, then they still have the
advantage.

Classic verb is a KILLER soft verb that is a free download for TC Powercore.
IMHO it is worth the cost of the card by itself. If someone offered you a
hardware reverb at this quality for the price of a Powercore you'd sell your
car to get it!
Finally I have found a software reverb algorithm that doesn't make me puke!

Which basically has been my point since this thread took this direction.
