Oh...one more thing: Do the comments you all have made re: Logic & VST apply to Logic 3.5 as well, or did 4.0 make a substantial improvement? I ask this because I may have an opportunity to buy Logic 3.5 used from an associate for $200 or so. Thanks! -OB1 -- The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

There are sooo many fine improvements in the latest version of Logic and I can´t think how I´ve ever lived without them :-) As far as I can see (as a Windows user) there has been significant improvement in VST under Logic. Please note that the Windows-version only supports DirectX (sniff) and you´ll have to buy Amulet DirectX -> VST adapter (which runs flawlessly on my PC here). From various reviews I can tell that VST on the Mac now supports various plugins that made Logic crash with previous versions than 4.0. So all in all it would be best to get 4.0x (no matter if you upgrade or buy a new version). All the best Thomas

Hehe, look at the nice freudian slip in the topic... >Do the comments you all have made re: Logic & VST apply to Logic 3.5 as >well, or did 4.0 make a substantial improvement? Well, on my system I even was more satisfied with Logic 3.61 (free update to 3.5, btw) then with VST, but that depends. The interface isn't as nicely designed as it is now, also you will miss the new plugins, and, as said, those are really worth their money. But 3.x uses less CPU power, for me (I just have an old cheesy ATI graphic card) also all copying, scrolling and things like that worked faster. Might be worth the money in any case since you can upgrade later. Sascha
