Being a sometimes Pro Tool user myself, one thing I set up in Logic is a
screenset with a full screen arrange window, and then a mixer(s) window
completely hidden behind it in the same screen set. Then I assigned the key
command for "select next window" to command+. This way I can use
the key command to toggle back and forth between the arrange and mixer
views; somewhat like in Pro Tools.
Of course this is just a sort of "visual semantics". Because
what's the difference between invoking that key command or simply calling up
another screen set with a mixer window?
I of course love screen sets and would not want to live without them. But
the above mentioned set up allows me some sort of "mental"
continuity in work flow between the two programs.

who says you will not be able to arrange that one (let be 2 if you like)
window with elemets you want... ;) got the idea?
i somewhat knew there would be disagreement on this. and its ok. because if
you get used to something you are most likely to defend it, no problem,
really.

a very nice comment and idea.
i could also be fine with a serious update on logics window sheme. and one
or more windows. but not the mess and waste of screen and logic we are
facing at the moment, just wait and see ... ;)
and here is a le version of my thoughts:
besides lock/unlock screenset i'd like "revert to original saved
version of
screen set" in a way that changes are keept as long as i need them
while
switching from one to the other...
peace,
ulf.

Regarding the windows...
Check How much space is lost in the top part of every plugin window.. Title
and lower area.. if you have 4-5 plugins opened, total lost area is pretty
big part of full screen.

That's a pretty cool Idea, I might implement that myself. Just to clarify
though, my point was just that in this scenario, Pro Tools handles it
pretty well in that you can have two complete windows and switch with a key
command (which I was kind of comparing to using screensets to quickly
switch windows (I know not exactly the same as a screenset, but you get the
idea)). But at the same time, you can still configure it to access parts of
the mixer from within the arrange window without using up much real estate
(as in the fader only pops up when you click on the volume display.
This scenario isn't much of an issue for me personally since I don't do
much audio in Loigc, just kind of giving people an idea how a sceenset is
not always a replacement for single windows (and of course many times it is
better).
I think I am going to set up that key command for 'next window' which I
never noticed before, would come in handy for me when toggling back and
forth between say the martix and arrange in a screenset. Thanks!
