Dear Group,
I have built a custom environment page to monitor and reflect the MUTE
automation on my board -- it works great.
The problem is I used a SYSEX button where I defined a custom string of MIDI
messages to in affect, create an ALL ON or ALL OFF command for ALL MUTES on
the mixer. No problem yet, but ....
The custom messages are MIDI Control #'s -- a different number for every
mixer channel -- with a value of 0 being OFF and 127 being ON. This
works fine except that the Control #'s 1 and 64 do not work correctly -- I
assume because Logic is doing something under the hood relative to their
normal use as Sustain Pedal and Mod Wheel.
If I hit the individual MUTE buttons for these two channels -- they work
properly -- it is only in the context of the SYSEX button that shoots out a
list of control commands in one click that the numbers 1 and 64 do not
function properly.
I have tried disabling the RESET messages in preferences and have tried
moving the position of the events in the SYSEX button window -- to no avail.
Any environment gurus know a workaround for this? Thanks alot -- email
or list response is fine.

The cc values should be sent out properly whether from a SysEx Fader
list or a standard Fader. However of cc#1 or #64 end up going to a
MIDI output via an Arrange track, Logic will reset those cc's on each
stop or cycle-jump. One work-around is to pack the SysEx Fader into a
Macro, then check the Macro's No Reset checkbox. That works like the
No Reset feature on Instruments - it prevents the reset messages from
being sent. (Maybe there's a better way?)
