I´ve been using the Power Core for over a year now and must say it works great. The Reverbs are marvellous, especially the new classic verb is fantastic. The only drawback is the latency, when using the FX in the busses, which doesn´t matter too much for reverbs, since they need a pre delay anyhow, but you definately can´t use the delays or the chorus on the busses. I do hope, that this will be repaired in a coming update. On the Track inserts themselves you don´t have the latency problem, so you can use the Eq´s, choruses, delays here. By the way, Sony has just released their original Eq algorithm from their Oxford digital Console for the PowerCore and I guess also this is going to be a killer. Patrick

I can see why latency compensation might not work in a SEND situation (that would require an entire paradigm shift in the way latency compensation is handled in any software), but does latency compensation work on an track output situation, when you actually ROUTE (not SEND) a track to a bus, and then instanciate a plugin on that bus or aux? In other words, the plugin(s) on that bus or aux would simply tell all tracks that are routed (not sent) to it to be negative delayed by the appropriate amount the same way that a plugin directly in a track would tell itself to be negative delayed? In this case, it seems that the methodology for latency compensation would be identical. hi, is ther a way to print the regions of one audio file to another. for example after editing the whole file in another app and then wanting to use the same regions in logic for the new file? understandable? i mean a more convinient way than tricking logic by exchanging filenames etc and reoading the song... some "legal" way to copy region information from one mounted file to another? u.

Thanx 4 the offer. I'm just checking out the ESX at the moment to see if it does the same. So far it looks rock solid so I'm starting to think it must be something in Logic's communication via VST. Now wouldn't that be sweet? E-mapple announce that they are dropping support for VST and release one last vers 4 the PC which, although technically supporting VST, makes it all but useless. Or would that just be toooo sneaky? I try to hold back the waves of cynicism. . . it's just kinda hard sometimes: sorry chaps. I was pleasantly surprised to get 5.3 for PC after "the announcment" but I suppose 5.31 is a bit much to hope for. Tests continue...

Thanks 4 the thought but I think u missed the fact that "The frist play after launch/relaunch is perfect". There is no groove issue as the loop was bounced from some of the same patterns that are being played over it (ie the kick). Anyway, I'm not using any of Logic's groove facilities: mostly it's strict quantize with a little 16C here and there. Also the most damaging effect is from the Kik phasing which is on strict quarter notes in both the loop and sequence and from the claps and snares which are on beats 2+4 flamming like two drummers on Special Brew. Also I'm afraid that the 'one bar' is not in loop mode it is made of copies. Nevertheless, if I had made a bad loop by whatever means, I wouldn't get that perfect play first time! Further, it was definately fine in 5.13 and I think it was still ok in 5.2. With regard to the stop/ double stop thang: Well, on the way through the faultless first play I have tried: stop/start double stop/start click on bar marker at top of arrange to jump back without stopping stop/click bar marker/ start Jump back 8bars using key command also allowed it to play to song end and then stop /start or click bar/start After any of these, Timing accuracy is lost completely. I have gone as far as deleting all but the loop, kik and clap tracks and removing all other plugins but DR008 (kik) and Kontakt (clap) and the problem still persists.

In Logic, you can save the regions to an SDII file, but I don't know of any way to COPY regions to a completely different file. Excuse me asking, but why would you want to do this? After all, each file is unique and it's unlikely that you'd want the same regions. There are shortcuts for cutting files into equal segments..... Just curious Colin PS >i mean a more convinient way than tricking logic by exchanging filenames etc >and reloading the song... You may have to cheat it like that....

Then start working with SD-II files :-). The SD-II file-format specs are at: http://www.crucial-systems.com/code/SDII_format_specification There you can read that SD-II files store the region-info in a resource: Type: 'ddRL' ID: 1000 You could try to open a SD-II file in ResEdit, copy the resource, and paste it in the editted version of the file (after making a backup first of course). No idea if this works, but worth a try -- would sure beat having to manually recreate all regions in Logic, esp. if there's many of them. -- Hendrik Jan Veenstra <h@...> Omega Art: http://www.ision.nl/users/h/index.html

Hi, perhaps, to get the same region divisions in another audio file can have some musical creative efect. All its possible in musical terms. I think if you get out the original audio file from the folder were Logic expect to found it. At the moment you open again the session, Logic will looking for this file, and will give you the posibility to make the search, At this point you can chose another file and logic will put it in the same track whit the same region structure. I hope this help. Jose Antonio.

Hi, I'm not really sure if this helps you but marker informations are possible to be saved in a .WAV file (at least on PC i do it a lot) I rarely use Logic's audio features for more than simple playback and don't use the sample editor as well so I can't comment on this behavoiur but other SW (ex. Sonic Foundry) works just OK. Regards: Darth
