Subject: [LAW] Recording 48kHz audio with Audiowerk (does not work..)
Message #123100
(LAW 5.3, Audiowerk 2) Ugh - the first time I need to record 48kHz audio digitally with my Audiowerk, and of course it does not work (what a surprise). I don't know if I'm now missing something really trivial here, but I always get the "Error while trying to synchronize audio and MIDI. Sample rate xxx recognized. Please check etc etc.." message after recording a little while. The "funny" thing is that the recognized sample rate is always a little higher than the one I have selected. If I select 44kHz from Logic's Sample Rate -menu, Logic recognizes the incoming audio to be 48kHz. Fine. I change Logic's sample rate to 48kHz and try again. But now, after recording a couple of seconds, Logic now recognizes a sample rate of 52246 (or near that value anwyay) ! No matter what sample rates I try, Logic always claims that the incoming audio has a little higher sample rate. Still, it seems to record the audio just fine until that point (unless there are some nice cracks'n'pops which are introduced with some sample rates). I have tried Logic's native AW drivers and ASIO, tweaked AW's control panel settings, etc etc, nothing helps. Recording 44kHz audio works just fine. Argh. Somehow I suspect this could have something to do with Logic's automatic sample rate conversion that was introduced in 5.2 (or 5.3, can't remember). Any ideas?
