Why 5.01?
This error often shows up when trying to run Logic on a cheap motherboard
soundcard with piss poor drivers. Start by turning of any of the
"auto"
selections in the synchronization window/setup and/or try changing sample
rates. 44.1 to 48 or vice-versa.
I think cracked versions of the software my also give this or a similar
message. (no accusations, just posting what I've heard)

Hi,
this error also occurs on very expensive G4 MAC DualProcessor
machines. I fight with this error since I own the G4 and didn't find
out by now the reason for the problem.
I have a MOTU 2408 connected to a Mackie D8B and an external
WordClock Master from Mutec. I don't think that the wordclockmaster
is the problem because all the other devices work just fine. Only
Logic 5.3 suddenly comes up with the errormessage and audio slows
down to a various sampelrate.

Hi Florian,
yes true, I have those problems with my Logic 5.3 for Win too
What drivers are you using? Asio?
Look to the I/O streams in the Asio driver page in the Audio configuration
of Logic. If they are set to "max" try to reduce that. The problem
was
already sent to emagic. They didn't know that. I guess it is something, what
is wrong in Logic. This whole Midi / Audio sync error thing is strange.
Somebody else wrote here or in another list, that it has something to do
with a not proper installed windows, but since you have this problem on Mac
too it seems to be a general Logic Problem.
Keep me informed please, cause it is a warranty problem

Sorry to say it's a logic bug. This bug made me change to SX (though I like
logic). I have an old system (Asus P2B with Pulsar1 LAWP4.8) and tried lots
of optimisations. SX runs (so far) without problems... If there wasn't this
bug, I might swich back.

I am having the same problems I am trying to transfer from 3 x DA88s
via MOTU 2408, I can get them across say twice but then the third
time the time remaining clock slows down and the files truncate
backwards. I have spoken to MOTU who say it is software, E magic who
say it is Hardware, Tascam are on the case as well and if someone can
come up with the answer I would be delighted.
One thing though it also does it on 4.8 as well
One curious thing is it does not seem to happen straight away which
in theory it should!!!
I am running G4 867DP, 768 Ram, V5.3 Gold, Micro express for sync as
well
Please help , me and my producer are rapidly going bald!!!
Is it a Mac problem?
It happens on the PC too. I have checked EVERYTHING to try to get
my UAD-1 to work with my 1010's and as soon as I plug in a UAD
effect the sample rate slows to a crawl...even though both are
running at 44.1

Hi,
I just recently switched from the MOTU 828 to the 896 and
now whenever I try and load Logic Plat. 5.3 it says "Logic
cannot sample rate convert 44100 to 82000 using the
selected MOTU ASIO driver, quit Logic and change sample
rates using the MOTU contrel panel." If I just click "Ok"
and ignore the message, Logic launches and the sample rate
that I have set in the MOTU contrel panel works and records
audio in that rate. However, one of the new features in
5.3 is being able to "real-time sample rate convert". Like
if you wanted to detach a laptop from your interface and
just use the MAC AV drivers to mix (which only support
44.1)and then convert back once you reconnect to the
interface. It does not do this now! I tried removing my
Preferences file for Logic and when I tried loading Logic
it said "No MOTU 828 device found". It's as if it was
still looking for the 828 I used to have. I'm very
confused, and I'm sure I haven't explained it very well
either but if anyone has a suggestion please help!!
