This does not make a lot of sense to me. Your PC soundcards internal synth should have pretty rapid response. All softsynths and samplers should have very close to the same latency with a given ASIO/EASI buffer size. In Logic [Audio/ Hardware and Drivers] select the M Audio ASIO driver and in the controller panel for the Delta you should set the buffer size at one of the lowest settings eg 528 samples or less (some driver versions give buffers in millisecs so 12 msec or less). That is not a specially good processor for audio unless it is a 1.6 A Northwood with 512 KB of L2 cache (in which case you could overclook it to 2.5 GHz with a bit of luck ) and your board is using RDRAM or DDRRAM. If it is just vanilla SDRAM the machine will not perform specially well when running plugins and soft-synths in Logic. Regards, Murray
