First of all, type "aux" into the "online" help (lap
5.2) and you get no
hits. It's there, but you have to browse to find it. Odd.
Anyway, I'm a day late and a dollar short on the Aux vs. Bus discussion, but
I just tried using a single aux to replace a bus + return setup, and don't
see how it's possible.
I want to route my sends out through outs 5&6 on my soundcard to my
reverb
unit, then return through ins 5&6 on same soundcard, all with 1 aux
object.
But to use the sends, my input on the aux has to be (virtual) bus 1 since my
track objects can't send to an aux, so even if my aux outs go to 5&6, I
still need an input object for the returns (ins 5&6). Am I right? Or
should I be able to do what I want with one object? Does this make sense?
Thanks,
Gregory

Use an i/o plugin on the aux (or bus)...

Got midi fader/knob hardware? Try the Fadermapper demo:

Thanks. I remember now - I guess I confused the two conversations and
attributed the benefits of the i/o plugin with the aux object.
