I am trying to hook up a Roland JV2080 to my Logic 5 (PC) so i can
trigger the sounds from the module and create my own layered
tracks. I have gotten as far as getting the synth to recieve the
signals (midi message light flashing) but no sound playback is
heard. Just midi messages and no sound. I don't know how to set up
environments, and this is really frustrating. Any help would be
apreciated. Thanks!

Sorry if this is obvious, but working just with the 2080, do you know how to
setup "Performances", ie., assigning different sounds to different
midi
channels and to different physical output/audio channels?
In Logic, do you have the 2080 setup as a multi-instrument or as a single
instrument? If a single instrument, is it's midi channel parameter what the
2080 is expecting to see? If a multi-instrument, are you putting your
sequence on the proper 2080 track? For example, a 2080 multi-instrument
will potentially have 16 different tracks -- one for each midi channel --
that you can use in the arrange window. Did you select and use the
track/channel the 2080 is expecting to receive on?
I don't use a PC, so I don't know what system issues there might be.
