I use the Delta 1010 card as a main sound card. When I trigger
outboard gear, such as my midi keyboard, everything's ok. However,
when I trigger virtual sounds or the ones on my pc's sound card I
get monstruos latancy. Interesting and confusing is the fact that I
can trigger the sounds from my 'exsp' plug in perfectly.
I suppose it's buffer size related but, believe me, I HAVE checked
where possible and I still have no solution.
Tip: when I load the Demo song the pc sends an overload
error....but this is a Pentium IV, 1.6 with 512k and 120 Giga! I
know, I know, Ill hopefully be able to move to Mac someday! For
now, PLEASE, help me.

Which "virtual sounds" give you problems? Not Reason/rewire
instruments
by any chance?
I bought Reason a couple(?) of years ago, but have never managed to get
it to work acceptably, when using Logic as the sequencer...
