Slick,
dunno whether this has been solved in the meantime,
but you've probably been cabling something to where it
doesn't belong. Since your setup is not that large, try
booting Logic (which version?) without Autoload, i.e. take
it out of your Logic folder.
Then open the environment, choose the MIDI instr. layer
and create your instruments, preferably multi-instr. via the
->new>multi instrument menu. A new m/i will appear. Name it
eg K5 in the parameter box (where it is still named Multi Instr.)
and activate all the channels you are needing. Initially, all are
crossed out... Port assignment initially is USB 0 - change that by
clicking on it and choose the coresponding channel the K5 is
hooked up to. If you like, select an icon and make sure the little
box is checked, otherwise these tracks won't appear in the
arrange window. You can delete the GM device and the mapped
drums items, which are created automatically, since you will not
need them. (What's the mapped drums for anyway???)
There is no cabling needed, as the port assignment does exactly that.
Once you've done that, you should be up and running. If this does
work, try copy/paste the MIDI layer to your songs - but delete what
you have in there first: select all with "cmd-a", hit backspace.
Go back
to your newly created song/MIDI layer, select all and copy (cmd-a/cmd-c)
go back to your old song and paste cmd-v.
No need for Unitor8 control either. The AMTs drivers are built into Logic.
Good thing starting from scratch is that Logic configures a lot at bootup
according to what it finds present, be it audio or MIDI.
Hope this helps!
Regards Jo
