Greg, I beieve that is correct, the EXSP responds over a 16 channels with
different sample sets loaded for each channel, along with multiple outputs.
A single instance of the EXSP packs a lot of wallop!

So it seems that the EXSP is multitimbral and the EXS is not.
A (more expensive) solution might be to install EXSP to work alongside the
EXS
within Logic so as to have access to both. I would imagine this is possible
as
the EXSP is a VSTi.
I am surprised this hasn't been unearthed previously if it is indeed true
