I do much the same as you but tend to agree with Hendrik. Before sending
anything out I always edit the master wav file with Soundforge (2-track
editor). This is where the final conversion to mp3 takes place. This way I
can use a codec plugin I purchased separately to convert wav to mp3. Before
the conversion I usually tweak the file then convert. Right tool for the
right job.
Seems to me Emagic already has everything but the kitchen sync (ha-ha)
stuffed into Logic, I think it's already becoming a bit unwieldy. There's
quite a few bugs need fixing... it would be nice to tie up some loose ends
before adding even more.
That said.... it probably isn't that difficult to add an mp3 export
function. However, they would have to license an mp3 codec.... which may be
a moot point now as Apple most likely can supply one.
