I'm sure this will diverted to OT soon...
Music school is a great place to meet people. If you have to go to college
to learn how to play, you shouldn't be attending. If you are going to
Berklee College of Music to get an education, you'll be sorely disappointed.
If you want to learn to play music, Musician's Institute couldn't be a more
shallow choice. all flash, no substance. In my opinion, for musicians,
University of Miami, North Texas State University at Denton and New England
Conservatory in Boston are the best choices. If I had it to do again I would
have gone to a different music school every year of my youth to meet as many
people as possible for future coneections.
It seems like you want to learn to be a sound designer, not a music player.
Hopefully there are some sound designers on the LUG who'll respond. Maybe
you should try to get an internship with a sound designer instead of going
to Music School.

While I didn't graduate, my short time there was absolutely invaluable and
one of the best things I ever did. So in defence I surely was anything but
disappointed. Just be prepared to eat, drink, sleep music. It's very hard
core and cut throat.
