G4 / 733MHz
1.2 GB RAM
seperate HD for audio
Mac OS9.21 / LAP 4.81
no internet or other crap on this computer
I just purchased a Nuendo 96/52 with Nuendo 8 i/o 48k box,
having switched from (2) MOTU 828 units. I have all the settings
correct and am handshaking the card and box with lightpipe and
Word Clock BNC cables.
I am running this with no console and ran the 828 buffer setting
at 96 and/or 128. When I do this with the Nuendo card, it pops
frequently during playback and when just monitoring an active
input.
I changed the buffer settings up to 1024 and it went away. My
dealer told me that this is the problem and that I need to raise
the buffer settings. This is not the solution and is unacceptable
as well as not useable.
It worked correctly with the 828's as well as my previous 2408
system at the low (128) buffer setting.
Please help.
thanks,
j Wilkinson

I use the RME version of the 9652 and it runs fine, with wordclock etc, at
the LOWEST available buffer setting so I'm afraid your dealer is wrong.
Download the 9652 manual from RME's website
(http://www.rme-audio.de/english/index.htm) and follow all the insructions
for set up with Logic that are in there. Also, make sure that the card is in
the bottom slot on the mac, then trash all your RME drivers, re-install them
from downloads from the website, zap your PRAM SEVEN TIMES IN A ROW before
you try launching logic or the card controls again, and see how you get on.

Be sure to download the latest drivers from the RME website. Don't use
the drivers supplied by Steinberg...
