Just for me to understand:
is it important for you to have MP3 or would another possibly better
format like e.g. Ogg Vorbis do ?
Apart from argueably better quality w/r to sound at low bitrates Ogg Vorbis
is free software and AFAIK could be integrated into any other program at
no charge. To my knowledge all major WAV/MP3/... mediaplayer support it.
At least on windows WinAmp2.8+, Sonique (newer versions) and I think
even M$ MediaPlayer do so.
I'm sure there are Mac MediaPlayer supporting it as well.
Just curious, best,
Michael

AFAIC I only use MP3 because it is what the client requests. Therefore
I wouldn't want to use anything else unless it was a company that I had
an established relationship with. If they want MP3, that's what they
get.

in my case the actual destination format is .swf (with an empty stage) or
mp3. as soon as acc of mpeg4 is a broad standart (which it will become as
far as i am concered) it will be that. i did not at all touch ogg vorbis so
far.
its not about quality in the first place but about the most convinient way
to demo for a client. and then drop .swf to the
web/animation/demonstation/clip designers for example afterwards.
i have to do all the encoding (if for web sound) on my part to meet the best
possible eq-ing for the destination file size. thats where i want logic to
assist.
mp3 is PRO - its not about HIFI- but: workflow!
cheers,
ulf.
