I'm using Logic Platinum on a P4 Northwood 1.8 with 512 MB of
RAM.I also have a separate HD for audio.
I'm having a problem with the audio engine crashing at the end of
certain tracks of audio. Once I find the track which is causing the
problem, I can run it by itself or with all other tracks and it still
crashes the audio engine. If I mute that particular track everything
works fine. This happens in every song and has nothing to do with
overloading the audio engine because it happens even when one track
is running by itself. It usually happens after I have a lot of
tracks running and then the songs transitions down to just a few
tracks. At the end of the "just a few tracks" section the
crash will
always coincide with the end of a track. It even happens when no
audio is present at all, for example during a rest or break. Like I
said, this will occur weather I have one track or ten tracks
running. It also happens when I play just the pattern in question
excluding the large mass of tracks that occur just measures before,
which could be blamed for crashing the audio engine. I've
already
tried a number of solutions including; removing/re-importing the
culprit audio tracks, starting with a clean song file (non auto-load)
and a long list of machine optimization and version upgrading of
everything on my system related to audio. I'm really stuck. I
can't
get anything done because sooner or later this happens to every song
I work on regardless of the number of audio tracks. I saw this exact
problem on the list a few years ago but have no idea how to find it
in the archive now. I know this is a problem other users have had.
I also remember something about inserting blank audio tracks into the
song to "trick" Logic into working but the work around was
very
specific and my memory isn't that good. So please please please
somebody help me become a Logic user again.
