HI,
Pardon my desperate tone but, I have been away from Logic for six months or
so and some problems I left behind are still unsolved in my new user state
of mind.
I am having the hardest time getting my Jomox SunSyn (True analog Hardware
Synth Module) to do a SysEx dump so I can back up the patches before
uploading a new OS.
Actually I am having a hard time getting ANY midi from any device into Logic
consistently.
I think it's a disconnect as to how the environment works and how my brain
works.
At the moment I can play back sequences from Logic and trigger all the
hardware(DX11/K5/MPC2000/SunSyn). No Problem there.
But getting that MIDIIN monitor on the transport to show me ANYTHING is
driving me crazy! It has popped on sometimes but I can't figure out why or
how to make it do it again.
I have checked all my patches in and out of the AMT8. I rebuilt a simple
Environment as per the manual (Physical input into Sequencer input etc.) and
had only one track with the SunSyn selected, pressed play and flipped some
knobs on the SunSyn and ...nothing. In UnitorControl, on the MIDI monitor I
see the knob movements generating control data but it doesn't get into
Logic. Sometimes quitting UnitorControl generates an error message that I
can't remember(not at the audio system right now).
Please someone give me the key to the stupid thing I am doing wrong.
I have disabled all OMS related extensions.
Stripped the environment down to basics.
Only one arrange track, which is assigned to SunSyn to record this Patch
dump.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance

P.S.
I just got Len Sasso's environment toolkit today but the beginner stuff gets
me to where the manual got me.
Slick,
one newbie to another (and i've been using for 2 1/2 years!)
Just a tip...you can see the midi input into logic on the transport
bar(upper right) if you didn't know. I don't know why your out would be
working but not your ins though....normally it's all or nothing.
