there was a post on this list that went into great detail about how , most
of the time, the "cpu too slow" message could be traced to the
logic audio device setup system creating erroneous configuration data. this
data is refernced in the system folders (sorry about the registry thing, it
wasn't the registry). what was causing mine to flip out was the device setup
determining that my soundcard had more ins and outs than it really had and
storing this info in the system folders. ifollowed the instructions in the
post, corrected the info, and LAWP has worked quite well since, outside of
the occasional error or two. if I can find that particular post again, I
will definitely repost it.

worked like a dream. It screams on my laptop. I am able to play back about
26 audio tracks with no sync problems, and a few effects thrown in. the
waveplayer is a godsend because it WORKS!! no latency, no crackling. yeah
it could use some work, but it works...NOW! Midi is rock solid. I don't
have to setup audio buffers every time I want to record. it is customizable
to an extreme.
Where did you get this information on reseting virtual audio drivers in the
registry and/or what exactly did you do?
Thanks,
john
