I'm seeing a lot of bitterness toward the implementation toward different
features towards different platforms.
In Emagics defence. A lot of the decisions to support or not support
different features of CPU's etc.on the PC based platform may or may not
have something to do with the fact that there are so many variables from one
machine to the next, even though their specification may be
identical. To say that they would not support the Altivec aspect of the
newest Apple boxes, when it would seem to be a relatively straight
forward process (not taking anything from the complexity of such a process),
Emagic have to make a lot of decisione based on the fact that
it's got to work for everyone. There are some people among us that are
incredibly brilliant at tweaking both the PC and Mac to the nth
degree. But the truth is that while this is great for those people among us,
there are always going to be a majority who don't care about
that kinda stuff and just want to make music each time they turn on their
machines and boot LAW or LAM. To go ahead and create even more
confusion, would be a suicidal move on the part of a software company known
for it's reliability and attention to detail. I'm still pissed
that the Time machine II (LAMP) doesn't work properly after all this time.
but I have found workarounds to get to the desired result. They
aren't ignoring us. Hell imagine where we would be without the internet and
groups like this. Version 2.02???? Still!!
Anyway, the moral of the story is. If it's not implemented, they're not
trying to piss _you_ off. There's probably a real reason.
Lets all get back to the helping each other out with tips and good advice.
This speal isn't menat to piss anyone off BTW, so please don't
flame me.
Cheers,
Matt
