Actually Mike, they don't HAVE to do anything, you don't have to buy it. Version 5.2 works quite well and runs everything you're listing. Eventually these will come to OSX as well or be replaced by something better, if you don't think so, just step back in time to about 5 years ago before any of this was even here, could you record and produce music back then? I bet you're answer is yes. I've been playing with 5.3 now for the past day and a half. I'm having fun learning several of the new features from 5.2 which I hadn't got to yet, cause I was so ingrained with the things I used to use. Sometimes taking a step to the side (or in your eyes a step back) is a great way to get out of the tired way of working and be more creative. Sure it'll be great when the 3rd party plug-in people get on board, but I'm not waiting around for that.
