Subject: [OT] quality Prosamples EXS24 sample CD-ROMs
Message #117540
Via the Emagic website I saw a site where they sell sample CD-ROMs that work with EXS24 by a company named prosamples. They sell three CD-ROMs for EUR 105,-, which is a bargain, I think. Does anybody know if the quality is good? They have demo's that sound good, but maybe someone has them, so... Also, they have a Steinway sample CD-ROM. Is it any good? I want to order that one, and the Pure Drums and Dance drums. Thanks for any info, Remco

I like the ProSamples series. 45 titles now in the series. They are all cut down versions of more expensive libraries so the quality is generally very good (although the avraiation can be a little limiting - but for the price I'd say they're a bit of a bargain!). So far I have Rock Drum Loops, Pure Drums, Pure Ebass, the orchestral one and the Skunkworks guitar loops. G.

In my opinion though, the cds with an acoustic base have been less useful than the electronically-based discs. For instance, the Symphonic Strings disc is OK but the MegaSynth and Mega Drums rock. The Vocal discs are good too....Like the India disc and Voice Spectral. I would love to get a hold of the trance disc but it's not regularly available in my area, so some are hard to get. they are very worth while though. Giotto
