What a hell to deal with USB devices like the EMI 2/6. And what a strange
idea from Emagic to have spent so much energy for promoting USB audio gear.
It's true that their latest Mac drivers are more reliable and offer better
latency (especially on LAM 5.3 for OSX, if you don't mind dozens of CPU
peaks at the smallest buffer settings...) but they are far from being
comparable to the Audiowerk Mac driver in terms of CPU hunger and software
monitoring quality - and this even at lowest latency under OSX 10.1.5.
What we need from Emagic is a more powerful Audiowerk with an even smaller
latency, and its compact Firewire declination with midi in/outs and some
good preamps for example. No more USB. I have bought my EMI 2/6 in February,
have tested it in many Logic configs - Win Me, XP, OS9 and now OSX on a G4
DP 800 - and 6 months later I can certify one thing : selling USB audio
devices to professional musicians is simply a nonsense today.

PS : before answering "no problem here", just make a comparative
test if you
have access to both AW8 and EMI on a Mac...
