is it possible to send MIDI key commands (note offs) as a port specific
message? I have a small MIDI keyboard i'd like to set up as a short cut
facilitator but i don't want these same MIDI notes from my main controller
to
trigger the key command. The only work around I've found so far is to only
assign MIDI notes above anything i would play on the main controller but
thats
a drag. Thanks for any replies.

More or less...
Cable the relevant input port from the Physical Input to a
transformer, and set that transformer to change the input notes
you want to use into notes that are outside the note range of the
other keyboard, or to some obscure CCs or such. Anything that
definitely won't arrive from some other source.
Cable the output from the transformer back to the physical input.
Now set the relevant key commands to use the transformed
messages.

Just set the small controller to send on a different channel, and specify
that channel when you assign MIDI remote in keycommands.

Great, thanks! I think your method will be more effective for me (as opposed
to just sending on a different MIDI channel) as the controller resets the
MIDI
channel everytime it is powered off.
