Now if only my EMI 2|6 would work on my Mac. I can't even monitor
sounds without distortions.

Thanks for clearing that up, what a mystery it was. Now the rumors won't
get started.

Just downloaded the Motu 828 Beta drivers and LAMP X, and fired it
up....
It's ALIVE! Brought up an instance of the ES2 and the latency is
practically non-existent! This ROCKS!
rig=mirror-door DP 1Ghz w/OSX 10.2, 1.25 Gig Ram, Unitor 8MkII/AMT-8
cascade, Motu 828.
So far so good! Gonna have to continue with os9 for the time being -
UAD-1 support et. al.
But this is reeeallly promising!
Thanks Michael!

Will the performance be the same as on OS9 in regards
to track count and plug-in processing, in other words
will upgrading to OSX mean more or less performance
power...?

Coincidentally, that's when Emagic's getting another cent out of me.
Maybe.

Stop sending messages like that with X-Priority set to "(High)"!
What is it in that message urges us all to prioritize it?

New Macs might not boot OS 9 in the future. I guess rather sooner than
later.
It is important things are working fine at this time.

Thanks, Michael, and the rest of the guys!
I've played around with it for an hour or so. Had to use my Mac's audio out,
coz there aren't drivers for my trusty AW8. And of course I couldn't use my
Waves plugins. Basically, the OSX version looks beautiful and works just as
I
expect it to. Hard to measure performance, though, since I can't use my
Waves plugins, which take of most of my processing power. Look forward to
hearing about everyone else's experiences. Good job, Emagic, and please
finish the AW8 driver ...

Wow.... I am impressed.
Kinda almost second guessing my decision to go Protools now. :-)
Wonder when Digi will put their fingers out and go OSX for HD??
Tasty!

Well, can we Windows users at least get an update with that fancy pancy
icon? ;) The current LAP icon looks awful under XP. hehe

Wow. What a surprise! Maybe the whole Apple buyout thingy gave
everyone
at emagic some super motivation.
Hopefully there is work on a OS X version of SoundDiver (Mr Haydn,
care to
comment)? Or maybe even make it a part of Logic (I would love to be
able to
double click on a Multi-instrument icon in the environment, and have
it pop-up
the editor for the synth it is assigned to). I will probably play
around with
Logic in OS X, but most of my real work will have still be in OS 9,
as I have
unfortunately grown dependent on SoundDiver and its wonderful editors.
I thought everyone in Europe took the month of August off... Is this
just
myth?

You'll get the same performance as in OS9.

Fantastic News!
Can anybody who's already installed it answer a couple of queries?
Currently, there's no "real" info on the emagic site and it'll be
a while
before I can get to my machine to install the update.
Is there a driver for the AW8 card? I can see no mention of it.
It would appear that you only need OS10.1. I asssumed that we'd need to
install Jaguar before Logic for X would run.
As this would not appear to be the case, is there any significant advantage
to running 10.2 (performance etc)?
Can't wait to try it out.
Thank you Emagic.
> Is there a driver for the AW8 card? I can see no mention of it.
I asked Emagic a few weeks ago and said they were working on it.

Actually the real myth is that Euro's work to live and Americans live
to work, but so far OSX is either supported by Motu or Digidesign... ;-)

Hm, I'd rather say Logic for OS X is out because they were on vacation?!?
;) Urs (a European guy who spends his vacation doing things)
hi,
is there any mac-user on this list using reaktor3 as a VST-remote
instrument in lap 5.3 (os9)?

Hahahahahahahahahaha ROFL!!!!
Sorry, couldn't help myself. ;-)
I've had lots of problems using Reaktor as a VST in Logic (can you say
crash?). N.I. say that things are supposed to get much better for us
Mac-users in 2003. We'll see...

I bought my new Mac a year ago and was seriously considering
upgarding my Dynamo to Reaktor 3 but
I then read about not being able to use more than one Reaktor
instrument at time so I gave up the idea.
The fix was supposed to come before Xmas...that is to say Xmas 2002 :-(
I'm kinda glad that I didn't buy it because the forthcoming (a heavy
cough :-) Reaktor Sessions
seems to satisfy my needs. I won't be buying that though unless the
box says that it has a free
upgrade to OS X AU version...if not., I will wait for that. I'm not
going to spend another dime to any OS 9 software only.
Cheers
