OK, let me put it another way ... can _anybody_ record midi instrument track automation for cutoff, resonance, chorus, reverb, etc (anything other than volume & pan), by moving the "assign 1-5" knobs on a track mixer midi channel? John Pitcairn

The only way I can record automation from external controllers, or from Track Mixer, on midi tracks is actually recording MIDI the old, object-based way [in MIDI mode]. Since 5.2 on audio channels vol and pan are recordable as track automation using CC#s 7 & 10, and the rest of track automation for Audio is fader events. It looks like MIDI has been included in this scheme, insofar as only CC#s 7 and 10 can be recorded as TBA, but, of course, fader events have no meaning on a MIDI track, so everything else is OBA. I think may be by design. btw, did you check out my post about the Sample Delay plugin anomaly ? Dave Eager

So in 5.2 the only way to record TBA Midi reverb controller data is in the Track Mixer... I hope that changes. I tried doing a track mixer snapshot (record/pause send all mixer data) in track automation and it didn't work. Is that possible in TBA? Also is there a way to see your TBA in the event list window? I think may be by design. I hope not. It worked fine in 5.1.3, recording all the correct CCs. If you draw in some track auto for other CCs in 5.2, it plays back fine. I guess it's a bug introduced as a side-effect of the new track automation splitter transformer. John Pitcairn
