Salutations, Logicians far and wide ...
I finally updated my old 2.6.6 LAM PPC to LAM Gold PPC 4.0 today -- Sam Ash
had the thing for $300-ish, so I went for it as it supports my old but tried
and true CBX-D5. I've got high hopes -- I loved Logic on my old Atari, was
disappointed in 2.6.6, but 4.0 looks like it's going to get me all Logical
and stuff again. And to think I went in to Sam Ash looking for Peak / Waves
stuff for my Deck!
My main audio box is (for now) a 6100/60, 72M RAM, 16G disk with the Sonnet
225MHz G3 upgrade. I just bought a Lombard G3/333, and am planning on
purchasing the Digigram VXPocket for analog / digital audio i/o for the
Lombard. My first question -- has anyone used LAM 4 with the VXPocket? From
their web info, it looks like a Sound Manager device, so am I correct in
assuming LAM 4 would work with it ok?
2nd question -- more of an audio question, though -- i've got a few
percussion tracks in mono (loops, edits, more loops, etc.) that i'd love to
turn into stereo tracks. I'm not too picky about percussion sample placement
i.e. high-hats on the right, bass in the middle, etc., i'm just looking for
a
way to make them sound wider. Anyone know any cool LAM 4 tricks for this, or
should I really invest in the Waves NPP stuff (what I was _going_ to buy,
anyway <g>)?
Question 3 - What's with the purple? Purple LAM, bought a purple-ish bass
for a friend of mine (early Christmas present), and today I find that my
favorite pair of socks, not to mention my favorite cereal, have gone purple.
Purplexed (ugh) and with regards,
John
