Hey there LUGgers! :)
This might have been covered earlier (I can't find a thread) but once you
have
added files into a session via
the audio > add audio file window, is there a way of selecting all of
them and
adding them into the arrange
window in one hit?
I'm finding that drag and drop will only allow me to add one at a time, even
if
I do a 'select all' first.
I feel really dumb not knowing this, because I keep forgetting to find out
if
there's a solution and usually work
around it to get the job done.
If this has been covered earlier, please direct me to the post or copy &
paste
the answer to me!
Thanks everyone.

The manual seems to imply that dragging files from the desktop can be
done in multiples but not being able to add multiple files from the
audio window is essential for even the most rudimentary audio
applications. Logic has many powerful features but it is
flabbergasting that they have never updated this.

I just tried dragging from explorer "win xp LAWG5.3" and when
selecting multiple files, only one file makes it to arrange.
This is indeed a feature that should be working.

I was looking for a way to merge a whole bunch of pairs of stereo wav
files - Close miked drum samples and their relevant Room mics - and
be able to repeat this with varying levels. As I was dealing with
operations done on pairs of files rather than a string of individual
files I could not figure out how to use Sound Forge Batch Converter
to automate this for me. So I decided to use Logic.... One track for
close miked samples one after the other and a second track with the
Room mics and the fader set at -8dB. There were about 1066 samples in
total. Because I couldn't drag multiples files onto the Arrange
window, guess how long it took me to do it one by one?!
Admittedly this is not something a lot of people would want to do but
the idea of throwing a bunch of audio files onto the arrange page at
once and "arranging" them how you would like seemed to me to be a
standard requirement of software like this.
If anyone knows a better way of doing this (batch file merge) I would
be very grateful!
