I agree totally with Sascha.
It changes the way you work, ...for the worse of course.
When they changed it with 4.0, they must have thought it needed changing
from the previous hard to see squiggle. ..And it still does
This is a MAJOR bug for me as well
Please muted seqs grey out or similar
