Um, don't you think all of this _may_ have come to Michael as unexpected
as it came to us? After all, he isn't the Big Boss at Emagic, he is an
employee (I hope he still is...)
Take-overs like this normally aren't being discussed and voted upon by
employees.
I have no idea what happened, but a company sell-off like this smells
like a desperate move from a sinking ship, in order to save at least
something. Who knows, even the Emagic heads may be utterly sad about
this development.
And it makes me wonder why there's not a single post from Emagic here
today. My guess is, either they are are much more surprised and shocked
than we are (can you imagine...), or maybe the new masters don't want
them to participate anymore.

Correct.

Don't forget that the SoundDiver-Users mailing list is not an
official Emagic (or Apple mailing list). Don't expect official
comments here.

I believe a search of the archives would find Mr.
Haydn's thoughts -- in the thread of not much more
than month ago regarding the notion of Emagic
dropping Windows support. At that time, Emagic
staff posted a plethora of (obviously spurious)
reasons why this would be foolish, destructive,
unthinkable, 'never happen', etc., etc.
It sure would be nice to hear now how those "reasons"
no longer apply...
