Never have I disliked saying "I told you so" more than I do at
this moment.

Over a month ago I posted the "It's becoming apparent" e-mail that
everyone
one the list bitched at me about. (except two or three kind souls who
agreed)
I went ahead and have changed the studio over to Cubase VST, SX is on order.

It's becoming apparent......
That Emagic is moving away from the Windows platform.
The talk of "possibly" dropping VST support in favor of
"Audiounits" givesa
clear indication that cross platform compatibility will fall by the wayside
as will eventually Windows development. It's obvious isn't it? Seems to me
it's already begun. Look at the amount of time and care that went into a
version of Logic that's solidly 2K/XP compatible.... XP is out now and from
what I see Cubase and Sonar are running very well on XP.

The heavy pro-Mac slant by Emagic's employees that choose to post on this
list show where the heart of the company is. Hey, no problem with that, more
power to you Mac users, it's a great platform, just not the one I choose to
use. Right now I don't feel I can invest anymore money with Emagic. 

Recent events have pretty much driven the last nails in the coffin for
this Logic user. over the past six months I've used Cubase VST32 at the
studio I work part time at, aside from the MIDI section not being as
flexible or as quick as Logic's, it's a damn fine program, very fast and
stable, and I was trying pretty hard not to like it. The studio owner
popped for half of VST24 which I now have on my home PC. Sadly, it's time
to move on to a company that's providing better PC support and development.
Never honestly thought this would happen. Oh well, these are tools, not a
religion. :-)

Seems like a grim post but it's been coming for awhile now, just admitting
the obvious.

In the end.... I bet this is not good for the Mac users as well.
