Subject: LAM help - mix automation
Message #7862
As a recently new user of LAM V4.0 and only actaully using the software to mix 24 tracks of audio at the moment with no Midi stuff I am getting somewhat confused by Auto-mixing procedure. I have mix set to "update" but the fader still sems to fight with me when I try to write a new fader movement, obviously reading the information already there. It doesn't seem to happen on all the tracks though which is odd. I know I am definitely recording on the right Buss track while this happening (A or B etc.) Do I keep having to go to the Arrange page and do a Mix-down on the A-Buss or B-Buss track before updating the mix? This is a bit messy and easily forgotten. The other way around it seems to be going to an Event list and finding the offending control values and individually deleting them!! (Not something to do in front of a client!!!!). To be honest I get a bit confused by the Event Lists and can't quite work out yet which list is appearing within the different windows. Any suggestions? Andy P.S. One time when I recorded fader movements an Alias appeared on the track the instrument was one in the Arrange page but this doesn't seem to have happened again..... P.P.S. Some of these things make me feel using the word "Logic" contravenes the Trade Description Act!!
