DSP to slow
On Pulsar
running out of DSP's
:--)
to put some oil on the fire : This is what was stated on Be loud :
========== begin quote from Be -loud Be os audio group =======
Someone asked how many channels a system could handle and wondered was
the CPU running out of steam.
No, the CPU is by far the fastest part of the system and a modern CPU
should have no problem handling over
a hundred channels.
The problem is the Hard Disc, 32 channels at 24/96 (24bit 96KHz)
requires a sustained 16MB a second. A fast new drive on a UDMA 33 or
UDMA 66 *might* be able to deliver this but remember seek times between
different tracks will cut the sustained data rate. If you want more
you'll need a U2-SCSI or U160-SCSI system with multiple fast drives.

Tought to put some oil on the fire
frank
sorry had some off moment ..
