The offical word from Digi is no. If you have to use Logic, etc you
can lock them up using MTC/MMC like you would currently with Pro Tools. Pro
Tools doing the audio and Logic doing the MIDI. One Rumour has Digi
realizing that the High End Pro Tools user market is maturing and sales
will be slowing down (New systems vs upgrading existing systems). They see
the Sequencer/host CPU market as the expanding market and believe their
name will steal market share from Logic, Cubase, Performer, StudioVision
(already several users have swtich out of SV because of Gibson's
resturcturing of Opcode and most others are uneasy). However, they have
been getting a lot of user input about opening up the 001 so....
Creamware US says the Pulsar/Mac, EASI drivers (needs 4.05
LogicAudio and Pulsar 1.3) and their new sampler are ontrack for release on
the end of the month. Also Guitar Center has been pulled as a dealer for
lack of sales and support to Creamware. Apparently GC has chosen to
"destroy the market" for Pulsars by blowing them out for $799.
Guess
they're sore about losing lines, that makes Opcode, Gibson, Creamware,
wonder who's next? However they can't get anymore than the stock on hand in
their stores and are losing money on the ones they are selling (Had I know
I would have bought them from GC since that's much lower than my cost from
Creamware, oh well)
.BTW listen for our ads on Talk America Radio.. Let me know if you
hear them (and what you think.)
