Already possible . . . . kind of. Create a new Audio object track. Set the "Cha" to output 1-2 (or whatever). If you push the record button on this track, the bounce menu pops up. This track will now also show up on the adaptive track mixer, if you want. Unfortunately . . . . the key command for record, which is the asterisk key, does not function in the same way as pushing the record button on the track itself.
