If it craps out, for sure. What about if you lose it, gets stolen, etc. this would provide good insurance for the user at a decent price ( XS Keys cost something to manufacture and ship, after all). Digi is charging $100 for replacement iloks, which seems a bit steep to me.. Malcolm ----------------- Malcolm Payne Music NYC http://www.malcolmpayne.com

If your XSKey fails I'm almost positive Emagic will replace it for free, or if not free, a very small fee. Emagic is *not* charging people money if their XSKey fails and they need to get a new one as far as I know. Emagic is currently charging $350 to people who need to have a backup XSKey so they don't miss an important deadline, etc. There is not a fee to get a replacement, if you happen to get one of the few XSKeys that have actually failed, except maybe paying the postage fee of mailing your dead XSKey back to Emagic. I think one feature for future versions of the XSKey would be to have some sort of small LED on it that lit up if it was plugged in ok and receiving adequate power from whatever USB slot it was plugged into. Emagic could even go as far as having it light up Red if it was getting power, and then light up Green once Logic started and was communicating with the XSKey successfully. Jeremy

Does anyone know who I should contact at emagic. I'd say I was one of the first to send in my registration. Now I can't use Logic. Bit of an anticlimax to my upgrade excitement. Pity... it was the long weekend here. I ended up scoring a few ideas out by hand using a trusty pen. Luckily a backup pen only costs around 50c, with higher grade pens coming in at about the 2.50 mark. Regards, -Steven T.
