Subject: LAWG: updating the audio mixer from previous versions
Message #7802
I've been struggling with taking a pre 4.0 song into 4.0 and updating the mixer into a 32 channel mixer. Can anyone help me out? I have a few Discovery songs (12 audio track limit/mixer) as well as a few 3.5 songs that have 24 tracks that I want to load in and update the audio environment so all 32 tracks are there as well as the bus structure and masters. I have tried a fair number of different ways to do this and I am looking for the most streamlined method. Merging/replacing environments has proven to be an unsightly disaster (always has been as far as I remember back to LPC2.038)....it totally screws up midi instrument settings, and occassionally I'll get 4 to 6 of the same instruments showing in the global enviroment when the original file had one such instrument and reference file--from which I 'updated' the environment--only had one. It's so completely fucked up I can't imagine the logic behind it. I mean, really, it is _so_ off and _so_ uncool, but I digress.... All I'm trying to do for now is to get the audio mixer updated. I can see the rest of the potential tracks in the Audio Configuration, but I need the mixer to show them all. The key command: Refresh Audio Configuration doesn't seem to have an effect on my problem (what _does_ it do anyway?) please help me, i've fallen, and i can't get up -john
