Another question on the USS----
Is their a way to make the USS begin playing the moment that I hit play on
the Logic Sequencer. I've found that using the "retrigger" button
on USS
makes the USS loop back to the start when the next "first bar"
comes around
on the Logic Sequencer, but it's still pretty lame that the USS doesn't just
start when Logic starts. Am I missing something?
Did I cable something wrong in the click and ports?
I've got the manual but really can't find the answer... Any help is
welcomed...
In the meantime... of course I will go through the manual again...
Peace,

If you turn retrigger off, the USS will start as soon as you click
the Start button on the USS control panel. There is no way (that I
know of) to make any environment process start automatically when
Logic starts playing.

Although the reverse is perfectly possible of course (as you well
know -- I just say this for the sake of others :-).
Assign a midi-remote command to the "play" command in the
key-commands window. Create a button in the env that sends out this
midi-command, cable the button into the physical input object, and at
the same time cable this button into a transformer that changes the
midi-command into the command that triggers the USS's start-key.
Cable the transformer to the USS start key. Done.
Now use the new button to have Logic and USS start together.
So, if you define "Play = CC100, value 127", and if the USS start
button is of type "CC80, value 0/1", create a CC100 button, cable
it
to PhysIn, also cable it to a transformer that changes CC100/127 to
CC80/1 or something like that, and cable the transformer to the USS's
start button.

Huh? Now don't tell me that _you_, environment-guru-of-the-century,
never thought of this...???
