Greetings group,
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but: How do you have several
musicians playing
midi instruments and record each performance on a separate
track? (or, for that
matter, having one musician playing two separate keyboards
and having each keyboard's
performance recorded on separate tracks).
I'm on LAP Windows 4.8, and have the manual only through
the 3.5 version. Can't
seem to find this mentioned. If it's in the manual, then
a reference to where
in manual would suffice.
Thanks and regards,
Arch.

First, there's no way that Logic could ever tell the difference
between one person playing two MIDI keyboards and two people
playing two MIDI keyboards.
It's all in the Logic4 manual. You'll need to upgrade (might as
well upgrade to Logic5).
Clues:
Shift-Click to select more than one track.
Use Environment's Physical Input Object to route different
MIDI inputs to different Instruments.
Use "zeroeth" MIDI channel (that's the "ALL" MIDI
channel)
in a Multi-Instrument, and then set the MIDI channel output
in the actual keyboards themselves. Then demix by MIDI
channel after the recording is made.
Not everything above needs to happen to achieve the desired
result.
